Dina in Hong Kong

It’s been more than 15 years since we graduated in the UK. We were all thrilled to hear that Dina, our Greek friend, would be visiting Hong Kong last week. She came to attend a conference on Environmental Education. It was such a joy to have a small reunion in Hong Kong after so many years! We still can’t believe that even her child (in the front of the photo) is already 28!

Dina was fortunate that the view of Hong Kong’s harbour was particularly gorgeous that evening, when we walked along the Avenue of Stars after dinner. Perhaps the showers in the week before her arrival had cleared the air, making the skyline sparkle even more brightly. In fact, I haven’t seen any stars in the Hong Kong sky for a very long time.
At one bus stop, Dina noticed a striking poster. On one side, it showed the white houses of Santorini with the caption “a dream far away…”; on the other side, a resort in China with the caption “a reality close by…”. For Dina, though, it was the opposite—Santorini is so close to her heart and her home!
Thank you, Dina, for bringing back so many sweet memories...

回覆刪除O, 人生苦短, 最重要是認真活過, 此生無憾呀! 你現在的相片看來有點傷感, 還是喜歡之前較有活力和朝氣的一幅. 如果Jude也是Christain, 你也應為她高興啊!
回覆刪除Dina's remarks after her return to Greece: iDear all , we have arrived in Greece after a 24 hour trip full of nice memories from your country. Thanks to Funghi whi is the only one among us spending valuable time to keep in contact with all , we had that wonderfull reunion that brought so nice memories. My daughter Anastasia enjoyed also very much the time we had together. We separated so suddenly last night after Dina trying to catch the bus...;but i think this was the best way to avoid all these feelings of getting appart.with very little possibility to meet again.... Your country and your people were realy a surprise to me; We did enjoyed every single minute. Anastasia , when talking to friends she does not do but very positive criticism. Everything in the conference was so well organised and the people were so friendly.... I wish we will meet again (why not?) in Sandorini or in Edinburgh, Thank you once again
