A.A.A.D.D. syndrome??!!!

最近我發現患有... A. A. A. D. D. (Age Activated Attention Deficit
Disorder) 「注意力不集中症」或稱健忘症!
這是我第二次收到這篇網路短文，似乎朋友都可能認為我與患有AAADD的病症很相似吧。這篇短文早在2002年已開始流傳，原始作者不可考。(AAADD即Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder簡稱，也就是因年齡造成的「注意力不集中症」。)閱畢，大笑之餘，文中實在把注意力不集中的情形描述得太傳神了... ... 有沒有看到自己的影子呢? .........
情形是這樣的：
我決定到院子澆花。
扭開水龍頭後，看到車子需要洗了。
就往車庫走去，看見陽台桌上放著我剛從郵筒拿出的郵件。
我決定洗車前先處理郵件，就把車鑰匙放在桌上，把廣告郵件丟進桌下垃圾桶，我看到垃圾桶已經滿了。所以啦，又決定把帳單放回桌上，先去倒垃圾。
但是我又想，倒垃圾會經過郵筒，還是把該付的帳單處理好。
我把支票本拿出來，發現只剩下一張空白支票。
其他的支票本在書房，所以啦，我就到書房去拿，發現書桌上有罐我沒喝完的可樂。我要找支票，先得移開可樂，免得碰翻了。但我發現可樂已經不冰，我決定應該先把它放回冰箱冰著。
我帶著可樂走向廚房，瞧見檯子上一瓶花需要添水了。
我把可樂放擱檯子上時，發現，我找了整個早上的老花眼鏡居然在這裡。
我決定最好把眼鏡放回書桌上，不過，先得為花添添水。
我把眼鏡放回檯子上，將容器倒滿水，突然，我瞄見是誰把電視遙控器放在廚房
桌上？
我知道今晚看電視，我一定又會忙著找遙控器，到時一定想不起來是放在廚房桌上，所以啦，我決定把它擺回該擺的地方，不過，我還是得先給花添些水。
我把水倒進花瓶時，灑到地板上了。
所以啦，我就把遙控器放回桌上，拿了些抹布擦乾水。
之後，走在走道上，我拼命想本來我到底想做什麼？。

一天過完了：
車子還沒洗，
帳單還沒付，
溫溫的可樂還擺在檯子上，
花瓶裡的水還不夠多，
支票本裡還是只剩下一張支票，
我還是找不到遙控器，
我還是找不到老花眼鏡，
我也想不起車鑰匙放在哪裡了。
奇怪？為什麼我今天一事無成。太奇怪了？我明明知道自己忙了一天，累得半死。
……
又：我剛剛想起來。
車道上水管的水還在流著沒關呢！

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. -
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests.......
I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my! car and decide it needs washing.
As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys on the table,
put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
and notice that the can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back
on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think,
since I'm going to be near the mailbox
when I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my check book off the table,
and see that there is only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
so I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my checks,
but first I need to push the Coke aside
so that I don't accidentally knock it over.
The Coke is getting warm,
and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward t he kitchen with the Coke,
a vase of flowers on the counter
catches my eye--they need water.
I put the Coke on the counter and
discover my reading glasses that
I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk,
but first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter,
fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV
remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table!
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote,
but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen
table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
but first I'll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it
spills on the floor.
So, I set the remote back on the table,
get some towels and wipe up the spill.
Then, I head down the hall trying to
remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:
the car isn't washed
the bills aren't paid
there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter
the flowers don't have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day,
and I'm really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem,
and I'll try to get some help for it,
